How Taxi Advertising Pricing Works
One fixed price. Verified delivery. Most taxi advertising is sold as a flat count: a number of wraps, for a number of weeks, and a reach figure nobody can check. We do it differently: one fixed price for the whole campaign, and a report that shows where your wrap actually ran.
One fixed price, and a budget you can plan around
Every campaign is quoted as one price, agreed before it starts, with GPS-verified delivery reporting included. These are starting media prices by format, so you know the scale before you ask.
- Supersides
- From £700 a monthOne-month minimum.
- Full wraps
- From £4,000 a monthThree-month minimum.
- Tip seats
- From £250 a monthThree-month minimum, or one month when bundled with supersides.
Starting media prices, excluding VAT. Design, print and installation are quoted separately. Your quote is one fixed price for the campaign you describe: it doesn't move, and the report shows what it delivered.
If it falls short, we make it good
Your quote commits to the on-street hours the campaign will deliver. If the GPS report shows a shortfall, we keep the campaign running at no extra cost until it is delivered. If we can't, the shortfall comes off your invoice, pro rata.
Booking on behalf of a client?
Agencies buy from a trade rate card per format instead: predictable, and resellable to clients.
See the agency optionRunning something for a week, not a quarter?
Standard bookings carry a minimum: one month for supersides, three for full wraps, and three for tip seats on their own (one when bundled with supersides). A wrap takes far longer to fit and needs paint correction on removal. Short promotional campaigns are the exception.
- What this covers
- A product launch, conference, exhibition or opening. Typically one or two cabs, working a specific area or venue, for a few days to a couple of weeks rather than a full campaign.
- Still GPS-logged
- Every short booking is still GPS-logged, so you get the same delivery report afterwards.
- How to book one
- These sit outside the standard minimums and are priced case by case rather than off a rate, so there is no form that can quote them. Tell us the dates, the area and roughly what you have in mind and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.
- If your date is close, call
- Vehicle availability and artwork lead times are what decide a short booking, and both are faster to resolve on the phone than by email.
Zones don't set your price. They prove your delivery
We split London into six zones, central to outer, the same mental map most Londoners already carry. They're how your report shows where the wrap spent its time.
- Zone 1CentralHighest footfall, longest dwell time: the West End, the City, the core.
- Zone 2Inner coreDense commercial and transit corridors just outside the centre.
- Zone 3InnerInner residential and business mix, still heavily trafficked.
- Zone 4Inner suburbsSteady daily coverage across outer-inner boroughs.
- Zone 5Outer suburbsWider reach for volume campaigns further from the centre.
- Zone 6Outer edgeOuter London and the edges of the partner fleet's range.
From brief to proof, we run the whole thing
You approve the artwork and pick the format. We handle the rest, including the bits that usually slow a taxi campaign down.
- 1. Brief & quote
- Tell us budget, timing and target areas. Back comes one fixed price before you commit.
- 2. Artwork & TfL approval
- You supply the design; we handle the TfL approval process and confirm the spec. No paperwork on your side.
- 3. Production & install
- Print and fit onto the cabs, scheduled around fleet availability. We confirm dates before anything starts.
- 4. Live & tracked
- The wrap goes on the road and GPS logging starts immediately, visible to you live via portal or API.
- 5. Delivery report
- The report that shows where it ran, when, by zone and borough.
Greener by default. London's black cabs are increasingly electric, so a wrap rides on one of the cleanest fleets in city-centre media: real coverage, lower emissions than a diesel van or a dedicated ad vehicle. Fleet electrification varies: ask us for the current mix.
The usual way, versus how we do it
Most taxi advertising in London is still sold the same way it was a decade ago.
- The usual way
- A flat number of wraps, for a flat number of weeks. Reach estimated from industry averages, not your taxis. No visibility into where your taxis actually ran.
- The Engage way
- One fixed price, never a surprise. Every route GPS-logged and mapped as it happens. You see the zone breakdown your wrap actually delivered, and any shortfall is made good.
Booking through an agency? A trade rate card per format is available too: still fully GPS-verified, just billed the way agencies buy. See the agency option.
Questions, answered
Pricing and the practical stuff: the questions we get asked most before a first campaign.
Do you handle TfL approval?
Yes. Taxi advertising has to be approved by Transport for London, and we manage that process for you — you supply the artwork, we get it cleared and confirm the spec.
What do you need from me, and in what format?
Your design to our template for the format you've chosen. We'll send exact artwork specs and deadlines once you book, and flag anything that won't clear approval before it goes to print.
How long from booking to on the road?
It depends on format, artwork approval and current fleet availability. We confirm real dates before anything starts — no campaign goes live on a guess.
What exactly do you measure?
Where each wrap goes and when, by GPS — mapped to zone, borough and daypart. That's measured. Audience figures like reach and impressions are modelled from those measured hours, and always labelled as modelled.
How is my final invoice calculated?
It's the fixed price you agreed before the campaign started. The only thing that can change it is a shortfall: if the GPS report shows fewer on-street hours than we quoted and we couldn't make them good, the difference comes off, pro rata.
What if the campaign under-delivers?
We make it good. Your quote commits to the on-street hours the campaign will deliver, and the GPS report shows whether it did. If it falls short, we keep it running at no extra cost until it is delivered; if we can't, the shortfall comes off your invoice, pro rata.
Can I combine formats in one campaign?
Yes — most campaigns mix a wrap or superside with tip-seats. Each format is quoted and tracked individually, and appears in the same delivery report.
Is there a minimum campaign length?
Yes, and it differs by format: one month minimum for supersides, three months for full wraps, and three months for tip seats on their own, or one when bundled with supersides. A wrap takes much longer to fit, keeps the cab off the road at both ends and needs paint correction on removal, and none of that effort scales down with a shorter booking. Short promotional campaigns for events — a cab or two around a launch or a conference — sit outside those minimums and are priced case by case, so get in touch and tell us what you need.
What if I'm booking through an agency?
Agencies book from a trade rate card per format: predictable, resellable, and still fully GPS-verified. See the agency page for details.
How do I receive the tracking data?
Live during the campaign via a web portal or API/webhooks, or as a finished report once it wraps — reconciled to Route where that's part of your measurement stack.
